The EJALS publishes empirical and theoretical research in the fields of Arts and Literary Studies. Manuscripts from these fields having theoretical or empirical features are invited to be submitted to the journal.

The journal's goal is to publish articles and full-length review essays in the field of general literary theory, with a focus on New Historicism, Drama Theory, Animal Studies, Narrative Theory, Comparative Literature, Psychoanalysis, New Criticism, Formalism, Structuralism, Semiotics, Marxism, Reception Theory, Poststructuralism, Ecocriticism, Gender Studies, and other related topics.

The following fields are included in the Arts category:

  • Performing arts (theatre, dance, music)
  • Culinary art, Literary arts, and Art history
  • Visual arts (Design, Painting, Conceptual Art, Drawing, Photography, Creativity, Ceramics, and Sculpturing)

The journal's content comprises of 3,200 to 8,000 words research papers and review papers. Short reviews are not accepted for publication. Scholars in the subject of Arts and Literary Studies are the journal's target readership. English is the primary medium of communication.

Policy on Peer Review

There is a double-blind peer review mechanism in place. The editors designate a minimum of two peer reviewers who are acknowledged professionals in the topic and area of the submissions. The contributors get all peer review reports in the mail.

PLAGIARISM POLICY
Plagiarism is an Academic Theft. Authors should carefully test their works to make sure it passes a general plagiarism test of at least 75% originality of which the 25% plagiarized content should be quoted statements or References. More so, no part (phrase, paragraph, page) of the submitted manuscript should be source weblinks without proper citation. This will also be considered as plagiarism. Such manuscript will be decided upon by our reviewers whether to reject absolutely or not.
REVIEW POLICY
Submitted manuscripts will be reviewed and decided upon within 5 working days of submission. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least 2 (two) reviewers and decisions sent via email to the corresponding Author.
